The Disponil line of "green" surfactants are biodegradable and reflect Cognis' ongoing efforts towards sustainability. Contact Fitz Chem for data sheets and MSDS.
Vertal 77 is a highly lamellar, cost-effective mineral pigment. Benefits include improved opacity, minimizing prime pigment requirements resulting in lower formulation costs, and inproved non-bleeding stain coverage.
Kronos is recognized as a world leader in high quality TiO2 production. Kronos 2310 is a universal grade which can be used to replace several TiO2 grades. It is a rutile pigment designed for architectural, industrial, and automotive finishes where outstanding optical properties, very good gloss retention, and chalking resistance are required.

Dear Valued Customer,

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide value to our customers we have recently begun a reorganization of our Inside Technical Sales Department. We are asking for your assistance in completing a short survey which will help us define your needs and expectations, and how we can best meet or exceed them. The survey itself should take no more than 5 minutes, and nobody will contact you about your responses. Thank you very much in advance for helping us to serve you better!

We also want to make you aware of some new offerings from some of our suppliers.

Cognis Corporation has come out with a new line of environmentally friendly surfactants for use by manufacturers of paint, adhesives, polychloroprene and styrene/butadiene rubber, and rigid and flexible polymer and plastic film. The Disponil line of "green" surfactants fulfills the needs of emulsion technology and the environment:

  • High-performance replacements for APEO and APEO-based surfactants.
  • Food contact and ecolabel compliance.
  • Improved latex performance.

Some of you may have had difficulty obtaining non-reactive organo-silicone additives. If this is the case, Cognis has the Perenol S-57 available. This is a:

  • 100% active, solvent-free surfactant.
  • polyether modified polysiloxane additive.
  • Low viscosity fluid additive used at .05-1.0% level on formulation based on the type of performance enhancement desired.
Perenol S-57 is recommended for water and solvent-based inks and coatings, energy-cure inks and coatings, and water and solvent-based paints.

Rio Tinto (formerly Luzenac) has now released Vertal 77. This is a crystalline silica-free, high mineral brightness pigment for architectural latex primers:

  • Low-angular sheen
  • Improved opacity and mudcracking resistance.
  • Contributes to improved sheer-thinning rheology

We are also planning a TiO2 on-line seminar with Kronos Corporation for this Fall. Interested in attending? Send an email to us and we'll get you more information.

We welcome your thoughts and suggestions. Please feel free to send any correspondence to Matt Rhead, Inside Technical Sales Manager. We at Fitz Chem thank you for your support, and we look forward to continuing to serve you in the future.
