New Products from DSM NeoResins

DSM NeoResins has recently introduced 3 new products to the market which will be of interest to all formulators interested in lowering VOC content, formulating with water-based aliphatic urethanes, or with water-based alkyd emulsions.

NeoPac R-9029 is a self-crosslinking, water-based aliphatic urethane hybrid, developed for fast-curing 1K wood floor finishes. Key benefits include:

• Excellent durability and chemical resistance.
• NMP and NPEO-free.
• Light, natural color.
• Rapid Cure.
• High gloss.

NeoRez R-1009 is a water-based aliphatic urethane dispersion offering very low gloss. It has been developed for use as a blending polymer to flatten 1 component and 2 component finishes without the use of silica. Benefits to the formulator are:

• Very low gloss.
• Soft settling.
• VOC compliant.

Uradil XP 7600 AZ is a water-based alkyd emulsion. It can be formulated at <50g/L VOC while maintaining gloss and application properties very similar to those of a solvent-borne alkyd paint. Advantages are:

• Quick dry time.
• Less yellowing than conventional alkyd resins.
• Self-coalescing at room temperature.
• High gloss capabilities.
