The FoamStar® A series of defoamers (A32, A36, A38 & A45) represents a novel series of defoamers based on new defoamer chemistry developed and patented by Cognis. It is the first new defoamer chemistry in over 30 years. The FoamStar® A series of defoamers is effective in high gloss paints and coatings based on acrylic, styrene acrylic, and vinyl acrylic latex. FoamStar® is a defoaming molecule that defoams by a unique mechanism. Unlike conventional mineral oil and silicone type defoamers, FoamStar® defoams at the molecular level. It also has wetting properties not found in conventional defoamers. The newest addition to the series, FoamStar A45 utilizes the FoamStar® Molecule compounded with polysiloxanes in a mineral oil-free system.
